Home Delivered Meals

 
 

LARSO provides Home Delivered Meals to individuals aged 60 and older who are homebound and need nutrition support. Delicious and nutritious meals created in our kitchens offer one-third of the recommended dietary allowances (RDA.) for the average senior.

What is included with Home Delivered Meals?

  • Hot meals with meat or other protein, vegetables, fruit, bread, milk or other dairy, and dessert.

  • Daily contact from one of the Center’s drivers.

  • Home visits from a Case Manager or Assessor for initial assessment and periodic reassessments for eligibility and other needs.

  • One frozen meal (delivered on Friday) for each weekend day.

Who is eligible to receive Home Delivered Meals?

Seniors who are:

  • Age 60 or older and reside in Los Alamos County.

  • Homebound and unable to leave the home for social activities.

  • In need of someone to help regularly with preparing nutritious meals.

  • A spouse or dependent, regardless of age or disability, that lives at home with the eligible senior.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no charge for Home Delivered Meals. Program participants are encouraged to contribute according to their ability; however, there is no obligation. All donations are voluntary, private, and confidential.

Who Delivers the Home Delivered Meals?

Friendly, caring staff and volunteers deliver meals daily between 11:30 am and 1:30 p.m. Volunteers also provide a safety and security check for older adults enrolled in the program.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

No meals are served or delivered on the 2nd Tuesday of the month due to kitchen cleaning

Please contact us 24 hours in advance if you need to change your home delivered meal status.
