Los Alamos Volunteer Association

Volunteers are at the core of our Senior Activity Centers, and we are incredibly grateful to be a part of such a generous, dedicated, and thoughtful community.

The Los Alamos Volunteer Association (LAVA) provides opportunities for individuals of all ages who want to provide care and compassion to the seniors in our Los Alamos and White Rock communities. Our volunteers want to give back and share their knowledge, talents, and resources. As a volunteer, you might help with a one-time event or serve on an ongoing basis.

Our volunteers deliver meals to home-bound seniors, staff the front desk of both Senior Centers, help with gardening/plant care, assist with programming, and provide special events for our seniors.

LAVA volunteers assist frail or low-income elderly with one-time projects such as snow shoveling, yard work, building wheelchair ramps, and repair work. You can also volunteer to drive our seniors off the hill to doctor’s appointments in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

As a volunteer, you get to choose how, where, and how often you want to serve our seniors.
